Our Zoom training classes are designed for both newer and veteran officials who want to get a head start on the 2024 Fall season. All officials from any association are welcome. Times are Pacific Time Zone. All sessions will be held to 1 hour.


Wed Mar 27, 7-8pm 2024 Rules Changes and Free Kick (kickoff) mechanics, other kick situations.


Thu Apr 25, 7-8pm Steve Coover Instructional Videos. Coover is the CIF football rules interpreter for CA and the Instructional Chair for the San Diego County Association.

On Field Training

Tue Jun 11 5-6 pm: Spanish Springs HS, 7 on 7. This is voluntary (unpaid) if you want to attend. Uniform should be officiating shirt, black shorts, black socks, shoes, hat, and other gear as appropriate. Contact Rocky Polito.


Sat June 15 9-11am  On field mini clinic at Bishop Manogue HS. This mini clinic will emphasize signaling, crew communication and whistle mechanics. Dress will be comfortable clothing (t-shirt, shorts, athletic shoes, officiating uniform NOT necessary). DO bring a whistle (on a lanyard) and a penalty flag, water and sunscreen. Note: this will be held at the upper practice field not the main field. Contact Steve Rohwer.


7 on 7 scrimmages Jul 11 and Jul 18: Sparks High School, 6-8pm. Several teams will be present for some 7 on 7 scrimmages. Officials are invited to work these practices if they so desire. Note this is strictly voluntary and you will not be paid for attending. Contact Comissioner Tony Kiriluk for further details if you're interested. It's a good opportunity to work on movement, signaling, and whistle mechanics in a simulated live play environment.

Andrew Siderius Football Officials Clinic

August 2-4 at Boys and Girls Club, E. 9th St. Reno

Friday: Optional Golf Tournament Washoe County Golf Course, Reno

8am-Saturday til 5pm @ 8am-Sunday til Noon: Classroom, Keynote Speakers and COMMISSIONER'S TEST.  


The NNFOA Andrew Siderius Clinic is open to officials from anywhere. We anticipate once again bringing you the very best in football officiating instruction. Cost for the clinic is $85 which includes 4 meals (B-L-D Sat and breakfast Sun) and President's cocktail reception Saturday. Saturday night will be our NNFOA Hall of Fame Inductee dinner, with keynote speaker Chris Ault, former Head Coach at Nevada. Attendees are welcome to bring a guest (cost $20 extra per guest).  Unfortunately our preferred out of town site was not available this year. Since it will be held in Reno, out of town attendees will need to seek their own housing. Friday is an optional golf tournament to be held at Washoe County Golf Course. Contact NNFOA Treasurer Rocky Polito for registration and payment (contact info on Leadership page).

2024 Preseason Scrimmages: All officials are expected to attend a scrimmage with his/her crew. If you cannot for some reason attend your crew's scrimmage, contact your Crew Chief.  Dates TBA

Uniform for all scrimmages is short sleeve shirt, black shorts (or uniform pants), short black socks, black officials cap, whistle, bean bag, penalty flag, down indicator.  Hydrate beforehand and bring water and sunscreen as appropriate. 


If scrimmages are filmed the videos will be loaded onto our Hudl.com account.
