Officials use game cards to record pertinent information. In addition to the things already printed on the card, other things officials should note (on the back) are: quarter and time of Unsportsmanlike Conduct fouls (e.g. "#16 Liberty 4:49 2nd, UNS taunt"), sideline warnings (e.g. "1st SW 8:44 1stQ"), ejections (give player # and brief description of incident), name of the snapper (umpires), name of "get back" coach, ball boy name, or any other info deemed helpful.

Typically only the back judge records all fouls in varsity games, unless another person on the sideline is assigned the task.
